Find out what the ASA LV surge arresters has to offer

Gapless low voltage (LV) surge arresters are used to provide surge protection against the direct and indirect effects of lightning and switching surges in low-voltage power systems, from the low-voltage bushing insulator of a MV/LV transformer right up to the point of entry into a building or installation.

High resistance to environmental conditions

Stability of characteristics over time

Application

  • Cable entries from overhead power lines – a solution commonly used when connecting new electricity consumers; in this case, surge arresters not only protect the end-user’s equipment but also safeguard the cable against the effects of surges
  • Overhead connections and components deep within the power network – the installation of surge arresters ensures protection of equipment at the end user’s premises, as well as preventing the propagation of surge waves through network components
  • MV/LV power stations, low voltage side – surge arresters installed on the low voltage side provide, among other things, protection against surges transmitted to the low voltage system from the MV network (they protect the transformer itself and the output circuits from the LV station)
  • Ends of LV overhead radial lines
  • Branch points of LV overhead lines
