Find out what the ASM type MV outdoor surge arresters has to offer
The outer casing is made of liquid silicone, using a process that ensures the stopper is watertight
The cover’s excellent self-cleaning properties
Application
Outdoor MV surge arresters without arcing chambers are used to protect the insulation of AC power equipment against the damaging effects of lightning and switching surges. They can also be used as auxiliary support insulators, for example in pole-mounted transformer substations, where ceramic insulators usually fulfil this role.
Operating conditions
Outdoor (temperate climate), may be used indoors
Altitude up to 1000 m above sea level
Operating and storage temperature from -55°C to +55°C
Mains frequency should not be less than 48 Hz or greater than 62 Hz
The rms value of the alternating voltage supplied continuously to the arrester terminals should not exceed its maximum continuous operating voltage Uc
The rms value of the periodic component of the short-circuit current at the surge arrester installation point should not exceed 31.5 kA
ASM surge arresters may be installed in any position: from vertical to horizontal, provided that the tightening torque of the screws Ms ≤ 20 Nm and the bending moment Mg ≤ 250 Nm
