Apator co-hosts the launch of the ‘Local Content. For the Benefit of Poland’ programme
10 April 2026
Apator SA is consistently expanding its cooperation with key partners in the energy sector, as exemplified by its strategic partnership with ENEA Operator sp. z o.o.
In January 2025, Apator SA entered into an agreement to establish an innovation partnership, covering the development of a new generation of 1- and three-phase remote-reading electricity meters (as reported by the Company in RB 4/2025 and 38/2025). The project is being implemented in four stages – from research and development, through certification, to the production and delivery of devices together with communication modules. In August 2025, the parties signed an annex to the agreement, which significantly expands the scale of the cooperation. As a result, the value of deliveries to be made between 2025 and 2027 rose to approximately PLN 160 million, and the first batches of meters were delivered to Enea Operator in January 2026.
This cooperation is a practical example of the implementation of the local content concept – based on domestic technological expertise, production carried out in Poland and the partnership of Polish companies in the construction of modern energy infrastructure.
A joint initiative for the Polish economy
On 9 April 2026, at the headquarters of Apator SA, which also houses one of the Apator Group’s production facilities, the launch of the government programme “Local Content. For the benefit of Poland” took place. Its aim is to increase the participation of domestic companies in the implementation of strategic investments and to strengthen the country’s economic security.
The event was attended by around 150 people – representatives of public administration, state-owned companies, local authorities, institutions and the media.
The programme of the meeting included:
- an official session attended by the Prime Minister and representatives of the Polish Government,
- visits by guests to Apator’s production departments,
- press briefings,
- as well as a networking session.
Local content as a direction for development
During the event, it was emphasised that the development of local content is becoming one of the key elements of the state’s economic policy. In practice, this means making greater use of the potential of domestic enterprises, shortening supply chains and strengthening the technological capabilities developed in Poland.
Apator, as a Polish technology company with many years of experience in the energy sector, has been putting these principles into practice for years – developing its own solutions, investing in domestic production and collaborating with partners on infrastructure projects of strategic importance.
The launch of the programme at Apator’s headquarters was not only an important industry event, but also an opportunity to showcase the Company’s technological capabilities and the expertise of its teams.
Visits to the production departments allowed participants to see how modern solutions for the energy sector are created in practice and what the implementation of projects of large scale looks like.
A new generation of meters – the result of a Polish technology partnership
One of the key outcomes of Apator’s cooperation with ENEA Operator is the development of a new generation of remote-reading meters – a solution developed entirely in Poland as part of a technological partnership combining expertise from industry, the energy sector and academia. This is an example of the practical implementation of the ‘local content’ concept – based on domestic technology, manufacturing and cooperation.
The meter being developed is a future-proof device – equipped, amongst other things, with communication based on an eSIM module. It enables real-time billing, remote tariff changes and eliminates the need for meter reader visits. Thanks to the PUSH function, it automatically notifies users of interruptions to the power supply, allowing for a faster response to faults, whilst giving users constant access to data and greater control over their energy consumption.
The device’s advanced architecture enables it to act as a mini-computer analysing network parameters, supporting network stability and efficient management – particularly in the context of the development of distributed power generation. The solution ensures a high level of data security and can form part of a smart home, integrating with gas and water metering systems and smart home solutions.
A shared direction
The event confirmed the growing importance of cooperation between public administration and domestic industry, as well as the role of Polish companies in the implementation of strategic investments.
For Apator, this is a natural direction of development – based on technology, experience and partnership, which translate into concrete projects and a tangible contribution to the development of the Polish economy.
