Using EKTIN PV software to monitor fotovoltaic farms
Cooperation with Energy Trade Solutions
The core business of our partner, Energy Trade Solutions, is primarily the provision of comprehensive maintenance services for PV farms, which has been enhanced by the installation of our digital RES monitoring software – the EKTIN software. This enables continuous monitoring of electrical parameters, analyses of operational indicators, and the ability to remotely control switches at each site within a distributed installation.
The data collected from the installations is used to prepare technical reports for each facility. Monthly reports are generated automatically, containing the necessary information to assess the utilisation rate of the fotovoltaic farm, highlighting critical issues requiring the attention of operations staff, and summarising the amount of electricity generated during the reporting period.
Our cooperation in this area has been very successful so far, and we are pleased with the results. The monitoring system is already delivering tangible benefits, and our specialists are identifying further opportunities to utilise its capabilities and expand its features. We are delighted that our fotovoltaic farms are now managed using such an advanced tool, as it enables us to respond more quickly to alerts. An invaluable feature for us is the real-time overview of the farm’s operation from the Land Use Plan, where we can see differences in the performance of individual strings. We recommend it with a clear conscience.
A wide range of possibilities
for investors
The investor or farm manager can use the communication module (SMS or email) to send alerts directly to designated individuals. Communication is essential in situations where a deviation from normal plant operation requires immediate notification of staff responsible for ensuring high utilisation of the fotovoltaic farm’s production capacity. This ensures that the investor can be confident that energy generation is maximised and that the power plant itself is not burdened by unnecessary downtime.
The investment in software for monitoring and supervising the operation of distributed energy sources, in this case PV panels, is based on the use of servers owned by Energy Trade Solutions, which, in combination with the EKTIN farm management system, translates into comprehensive farm management, reduced maintenance costs and investment security.
The ongoing professionalisation of distributed generation facility management services is leading to the increasingly frequent use of IT tools which, in the long term, enable the maximum utilisation of installed capacity and the informed management of operational and maintenance services. Our cooperation with Energy Trade Solutions is in its early stages and, in the coming years, will result in expansions stemming from the connection of further renewable energy sources—whether our own or those of our clients—which will lead to scale economies, manifested through reduced capital expenditure per 1 MW of installed capacity, lower operational costs (continuous monitoring, standardisation and automation of facility management processes), which will yield financial benefits. I am very pleased with this cooperation; together we are developing further features based on our client’s needs.
