The APA50 circuit breaker is a replacement for the APU 50 circuit breaker in the withdrawable version. As it utilises the APU 50 circuit breaker base, the replacement process is quick, safe and requires no modifications to the switchgears. The APA 50 circuit breaker enclosure is made of sheet steel in the form of a rectangular frame, featuring holes for mounting the IZM circuit breaker, castors and pins that interact with the circuit breaker’s sliding mechanism located within the switchgears.

The upper and lower connections, bolted to the standard air circuit breaker connection, allow plug-in terminals (from the APU 50 circuit breaker) to be fitted coaxially with the fixed contacts located in the switchgears.
