Application

Solid-state medium-voltage surge arresters are used to protect the insulation of AC power equipment against the damaging effects of lightning and switching surges.

Operating conditions

  • Indoor
  • Operating and storage temperature: -45°C to +55°C
  • Mains frequency should not be less than 48 Hz or greater than 62 Hz
  • The rms value of the alternating voltage applied continuously to the arrester terminals should not exceed its maximum continuous operating voltage Uc
  • The rms value of the periodic component of the short-circuit current at the surge arrester installation point should not exceed 31.5 kA
  • ASW surge arresters may be installed in any position: from vertical to horizontal, provided that the tightening torque of the screws Ms ≤ 20 Nm and the bending moment Mg ≤ 250 Nm
