Discover the capabilities of microBEL SRS
microBEL SRS controllers are designed to operate overhead MV switchgear/disconnecting points equipped with measuring systems capable of measuring phase currents and voltages. Based on these measurements, the controller performs earth fault and phase-to-phase fault detection functions in networks with any type of neutral point configuration.
microBEL SRS devices integrate the functions of a fault indicator and a telemechanics unit. The software configuration of the controllers includes a range of protection criteria – from overcurrent and earth fault protection to admittance and directional earth fault protection, etc. allowing the selection of the appropriate criterion to ensure effective and reliable fault detection in MV networks – which is an essential element for the correct operation of FDIR (Fault Detection, Isolation and Restoration) automation systems.
In addition to controlling switch disconnectors, microBEL SRS controllers provide remote diagnostics for uninterruptible power supplies, support local change-over switches (e.g. control mode, setting banks) and signals (e.g. open-door signal). microBEL SRS controllers are equipped with several communication ports, enabling them to communicate simultaneously with the monitoring system using, among others, TETRA, Trunking, NETMAN, GSM/3G/LTE radio networks, as well as 100Base-Tx Ethernet (e.g. for communication with an AMI router).
Controllers from the microBEL family can be equipped with a range of mechanisms ensuring full IT security during the exchange and transmission of information, including authentication in accordance with IEC-62351 and the 802.1x standard, IPSec tunnel establishment, firewall functionality, etc.
