Application

Operating conditions

The R series switch disconnectors are designed for energy distribution, the connection of electrical equipment and the protection of such equipment against the effects of short circuits and overloads in three-phase networks. They can be used as:

  • main and feeder switch disconnectors in switchgear,
  • isolating switches,
  • switch disconnectors for controlling and protecting electric motors and other AC equipment.






The switch disconnectors are designed for installation in enclosed spaces free from dust, corrosive and explosive gases:

  • in temperate, tropical (T) and marine (M) climates,
  • at ambient temperatures ranging from -25°C to +55°C,
  • at altitudes up to 2000 m above sea level.


They may be installed outdoors in enclosures (cabinets) with a degree of protection of IP34 or higher.
