Find out what the RTE switchgears have to offer

The RTE-type outdoor wall-mounted distribution board is designed for the power supply of low-voltage electrical equipment. It is suitable for use, amongst other things, in municipal transformer stations, which are designed to be operated only by authorised personnel.

Suitable for use in TN-S, TN-C, TN-C-S, TT and IT systems

Intended for the power supply of low-voltage electrical equipment

It can be used, for example, in urban transformer stations designed to be operated only by authorised personnel

Options

Capable of operating in TN-S, TN-C, TN-C-S, TT and IT systems.

The RTE type low-voltage (LV) outdoor wall-mounted distribution board can be powered directly or via a main switch disconnector; the following can be used as the main device:

  • a strip-type fuse switch disconnector
  • rotary isolating switch
  • fuse switch
  • or another device, subject to agreement with the manufacturer

  • The RTE LV switchgear on the feeders may be equipped with:
  • fuse switch disconnectors
  • vertical fuse rails
  • other components, subject to agreement with the design department

In addition, the RTE LV switchgear may be equipped with:

  • an outdoor lighting unit
  • a capacitor for transformer no-load compensation
  • surge protection

Switchgears construction

Wall-mounted panel construction made of aluzinc-coated steel sheet, to which busbars are attached using insulators. The power supply busbars are terminated with K4G/3 ball terminals, allowing the connection of cables without cable lugs (1x 50–240 mm² or 3x 50–185 mm²), and are also equipped with ball earthing terminals. Strip-type outgoing units with a 185mm busbar system are mounted directly onto the busbars.

Operating environmental conditions

The switchgears aredesigned for operation in a temperate climate and are suitable for installation in the following environmental conditions:

• in enclosed spaces free from dust and chemical gases that are active or pose an explosion hazard, and free from electrically conductive dust
– ambient temperature:
– short-term peak +40°C (313 K)
– highest daily average +35°C (308 K)
– lowest sustained temperature: -25°C (248 K)

Busbar system

All busbars and busbar connections are made of copper with a cross-section adapted to the rated currents. The main phase busbars are spaced 185 mm apart, to which terminal blocks are fitted. The protective-neutral PEN busbar for a 4-wire system, with a set of V-type terminals (or screws), is located in the lower part of the switchgears.
