Establishment of the Autonomous Technologies Cluster

Klaster technologii

One of the main initiators of the Autonomous Technologies Cluster, established at the Multidisciplinary Research Centre of the Stefan Wyszyński University, is Lieutenant General Waldemar Skrzypczak, former Commander of the Land Forces.

The aim of the Cluster is to facilitate cooperation between Polish companies and research institutions engaged in the development of advanced technologies that are of fundamental importance for the development of autonomous vehicles for various applications, including dual-use applications.
Poland possesses enormous, dispersed scientific, technological and manufacturing potential concentrated in Polish universities, research institutes and private enterprises. Advanced materials, microelectronic and electronic technologies, as well as software, are currently being developed on the Polish market; their use could enable the rapid development of a new generation of autonomous vehicles – including flying, driving and floating vehicles – as well as autonomous satellites and space instruments.

The development of autonomous vehicles based on domestic technologies and the achievement of technological sovereignty are of particular importance in the current geopolitical situation. The key to success lies in the cooperation of the technology sector within a unified strategy and the unified representation of the sector. This is the main objective of establishing the cluster.

Membership of the cluster offers numerous benefits, including, amongst others, the fact that:

  • cluster members can share their experiences, know-how and innovations, which helps to accelerate technological development,
  • pooling the resources and expertise of various entities leads to the creation of more advanced and comprehensive solutions,
  • cooperation within the cluster makes it easier to obtain financial support and grants for research and development,
  • thanks to synergies and joint activities, cluster members become more competitive on the domestic and international markets
  • The cluster works to promote and represent the interests of its members at national and international level, which can lead to new partnerships and contracts.

The founding members of the Autonomous Technologies Cluster include over a dozen companies, including Apator SA and the National Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications (KIGEiT), which also acts as the Cluster Coordinator. All of the aforementioned entities have significant achievements in technology development and have been present on the Polish market for many years.
