Statement by the Management Board of Apator SA regarding the intention to wind up FAP PAFAL

The Management Board of Apator SA hereby declares that the decision regarding the proposed liquidation of FAP PAFAL is based on market and business considerations. The scale of the company’s operations in Świdnica has been gradually declining over recent years due to customers in European markets phasing out induction meters, a fall in orders for services (caused, amongst other things, by the recalibration of electric meters , the period for which has been extended from 8 to 12 years), as well as the ongoing automation processes within the Apator Group, which have made maintaining a subsidiary in Świdnica economically unjustifiable.

Smart metering

from English: smart metering

Metering of utilities (e.g. Electricity, water, heat, Gas) using meters fitted with a communication module, enabling the automatic transmission of information (meter readings) between the meter and the utility supplier.

Dynamic pricing

A tariff that takes into account current changes in energy prices.

TETRA

Terrestrial Trunked Radio

A digital radio connectivity system designed for public safety and emergency services

URE

Energy Regulatory Office

The central government body responsible for regulating the fuel and energy sector and promoting competition.

VPN

Virtual Private Network

A virtual private network that enables data to be transmitted between end users via a public network (such as the Internet) in such a way that the network nodes are invisible to the information (packets) being transmitted.

Peak wattage

A unit representing the maximum amount of electricity that a single photovoltaic panel can generate under standard temperature and sunlight conditions.

ZigBee

A data transmission protocol for wireless networks. This transmission method is characterised by low power consumption, low data throughput and a transmission range of up to 100 metres between nodes.
