Mandatory measurements of electrical equipment and installations
Ensure the safety and operational compliance of your energy infrastructure
Why should you commission us to carry out a technical inspection?
We fully understand our clients’ needs, which is why we take a bespoke approach to performance measurements, taking into account the specific characteristics of the installation and the applicable legal regulations. We provide full technical support at every stage, from planning the measuring range, through its execution, to the accurate documentation of the results. For your convenience, we can carry out the measurements directly at your premises, without disrupting the facility’s day-to-day operations. By choosing to engage in cooperation with us, you can count on:
the timely performance of the full set of measurements required by the Energy Regulatory Office at least every five years
short-circuit loop measurements
measurements of the earth resistance of poles
a complete set of photographs for each measurement point
the geographical coordinates of all measured objects
automatic data collection in a proprietary mobile app
the ability to integrate results with GIS systems, including GISMO
professional measurement reports in paper, PDF, XLSX and online formats
expert support at every stage of the measurement process
Sectors that most frequently commission mandatory measurements of electrical equipment and installations
Minimise the risk of breakdowns and meet the requirements of the Energy Regulatory Office
Take advantage of professional performance measurements for electrical installations
Ensure user safety and the reliability of the energy infrastructure
Operational testing of electrical power equipment and installations is a mandatory part of maintenance in accordance with regulations. The regulation on detailed rules for the operation of electrical power equipment stipulates that tests must be carried out at least every five years to ensure the effectiveness of protection against CT/VT contact and the correct condition of earthing systems. Our measurements include short-circuit loop measurements, earth resistance measurements, verification of the effectiveness of electric shock protection, and analyses of documentation. Thanks to our experience in the power and automation sectors, we provide measurements that are in accordance with standards and have full compliance with the requirements of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE).
As part of this service, we carry out the following, amongst other things:
Measurements of short-circuit loops on street lighting columns, measurement of earth resistance, assessment of electric shock protection conditions, and verification of the technical parameters of the installation in accordance with applicable standards.
As part of the work, we also carry out: Full photographic documentation of each pole and pole recess, securing of pole recesses where necessary – using Band-It steel bands or PK10 covers, classification of measurement results: positive/negative, and updating of measurement attributes in the mobile apps and/or the GISMO system.
What do the measurement results mean?
POSITIVE result
The parameters meet the safety and operational requirements. If the result is ‘borderline’, monitor the network during ongoing operation and maintenance to ensure that no issues arise.
NEGATIVE result
The parameters do not meet safety requirements.
Recommended actions: immediate rectification of faults, temporary shutdown, and repeat measurements after repairs.
How does the measurement process work?
We usually carry it out in several steps:
First, we determine the measuring range required by regulations. We then carry out field measurements – for each pole individually – recording the results in our proprietary mobile app. In the next step, we classify the technical parameters and then draw up a detailed report. We deliver the results in several formats, along with photographic documentation.
All work is carried out using our proprietary Mobile/Web application and integrations with GIS systems.
