The 4GRID system is an advanced HES-class system designed as part of an AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) system. It can be integrated with MDM (Meter Data Management) systems, as well as operate as a standalone solution.

The 4GRID system was developed as the second generation of Apator SA’s HES-class system.

This enabled the development of a technologically advanced system that incorporates our extensive experience and takes into account customer expectations. When designing the 4GRID architecture, we therefore focused on scalability, efficiency and user-friendly operation. The 4GRID system is primarily designed to support Apator energy meters operating on the encrypted DLMS protocol using GSM/LTE remote transmission.

The main advantages of the 4GRID system are:

user-friendliness, thanks to numerous automation mechanisms
very high system performance (hundreds of thousands of meters)
scalable architecture open to new types of meters and concentrators
a high level of security, thanks to individual encryption keys for data transmission

For maximum user convenience, the 4GRID system automatically registers new meters and initiates meter readings, collecting 15-minute energy profiles, 10-minute technical profiles (including voltage and current) and daily and monthly billing profiles. The system also reads event logs and asynchronous alarms, such as the removal of a meter cover, and in the event of periodic transmission issues, automatically fills in missing data. It enables the execution of user requests with a specified start date and their repetition until successful completion or expiry. Additionally, it synchronises the time in the meters, calculates reading accuracy statistics – both individual and aggregate – and generates reports according to a set schedule.

The 4GRID system includes the 4GRID View web application, which provides a comprehensive and user-friendly overview of the system’s operation. It allows users to view a clear dashboard displaying the system’s overall status, as well as a list of meters with advanced filtering options. The application also allows users to define and maintain their own meter attributes, which are automatically taken into account in the filtering processes. Users have access to reading accuracy statistics for both individual meters and any selected groups, as well as to detailed readings and event logs. The system enables the remote addition and monitoring of order execution for individual meters or entire groups, including on-demand readings, parameter configuration, contactor control, tariff changes, and updates to meter or modem software. Additionally, the application supports the import of readings from local applications and the generation of customised reports tailored to the user’s needs.
