Examples of AC drive solutions

"Flying saws" – non-stop cutting

A servo controller or variable frequency drive controls the rotational speed of the saw carriage feed motor so that, once the set length has been measured, its feed speed synchronises with the material, after which it issues a cutting command. Once the cutting process is complete, the flying saw carriage returns to its home position and waits for the next profile to be fed in. This makes it possible to cut to a precisely specified dimension without stopping the movement of the material.

Control cabinets

Control cabinets equipped with electronic softstarters are used to limit inrush current and mechanical shock during the start-up of high-power motors.
A typical ASR system comprises a Control Techniques Digistart softstart controller installed in an enclosure customised to the customer’s control system requirements.

Pump sets

Control cabinets with variable frequency drives are used to regulate the speed of pump sets employed for water level/pressure stabilisation. These are systems featuring a ‘running’ inverter. We implement a typical ASQ system based on the variable frequency drives we supply or those specified by the customer, in cooperation with a PLC of the selected type.
The system has an application where there is a need to control a set of multiple pumps in level/pressure stabilisation systems, including those with variable values relative to flow. It is also used in systems where automatic regulation is required, with a cascade in emergency mode or manual operation, or where control of the operating time of individual pumps is needed.

We do not insist that our clients use the drives we offer, although this is the recommended approach as it allows for the optimal utilisation of their features within the solution being developed. However, recognising the importance of our clients’ standardisation requirements, we also design drive solutions using third-party drives.

Where such a migration is economically viable, we are certainly happy to make these changes, offering to replace DC drives with inverters or servo drives.

Yes, we can also provide control and monitoring systems for entire drive systems, based on reputable SCADA systems or, in some cases, our own proprietary software.
