Establishment of the Autonomous Technologies Cluster

Klaster technologii

Lieutenant General Waldemar Skrzypczak, former Commander of the Land Forces, is one of the main initiators of the Autonomous Technologies Cluster, established at the Multidisciplinary Research Centre of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University.

The aim of the Cluster is to facilitate cooperation between Polish companies and research institutions engaged in the development of advanced technologies that are of fundamental importance for creating autonomous vehicles for various uses, including dual-use applications.
Poland possesses enormous but dispersed scientific, technological and manufacturing potential, which is spread across Polish universities, research institutes and private enterprises. Advanced materials, microelectronic and electronic technologies, and software are currently being developed in the Polish market; their use could enable the rapid development of a new generation of autonomous vehicles – including aerial, land and marine vehicles – as well as autonomous satellites and space instruments.

The development of autonomous vehicles based on domestic technologies and the achievement of technological sovereignty are of particular importance in the current geopolitical situation. The key to success lies in the cooperation of the technology sector within a unified strategy, alongside consolidated representation for the industry. This is the main objective of establishing the cluster.

Membership of the cluster offers numerous benefits, including the following:

  • Cluster members can share their experiences, know-how and innovations, which helps to accelerate technological development.

  • Pooling the resources and expertise of various entities leads to the creation of more advanced and comprehensive solutions.

  • Cooperation within the cluster makes it easier to obtain financial support and grants for research and development.

  • Thanks to synergies and joint activities, cluster members become more competitive on the domestic and international markets.

  • The cluster works to promote and represent the interests of its members at national and international level, which can lead to new partnerships and contracts.

The founding members of the Autonomous Technologies Cluster comprise over a dozen companies, including Apator SA and the National Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications (KIGEiT), which also acts as the Cluster Coordinator. All of these entities have significant achievements in technology development and have been active in the Polish market for many years.
