Asset inventory
Ensure you have the highest quality information about your network assets – only a thorough on-site asset inventory can give you full control over your infrastructure
What are the benefits of commissioning us to carry out a comprehensive asset inventory?
We fully understand our clients’ needs, which is why we take a bespoke approach to power network surveys, taking full account of the specific characteristics of the infrastructure as well as business and operational objectives. We provide full technical support at every stage, from fieldwork and precise measurements, through data verification and validation, to its integration with GIS, SCADA and other operational systems. For maximum convenience, we carry out the inventory directly in the field, using modern, dedicated tools. Only information obtained directly from the field, accurately measured, described and verified, allows for a true representation of the actual condition of the assets. By choosing to engage in cooperation with us, you can count on:
the reliable collection of field data – which is essential for accurately mapping the actual condition of the infrastructure
a complete photographic record of each property
the collection and verification of data from multiple sources and its standardisation
mapping of the network topology: lines, cables, stations, transformers, connectors, poles
preparing data for import into GIS and operational systems
the ability to carry out subsequent network analyses and plan upgrades,
a significant reduction in the workload of maintenance teams thanks to the accurate location and identification of assets
Sectors that most frequently commission on-site surveys
Ensure the highest quality of data in your systems
Ensure you have complete, up-to-date and reliable information on every element of the network
Comprehensive data acquisition – the cornerstone of a reliable inventory
Why is data quality so important in inventory management?
Data quality is absolutely critical.
Only information obtained directly from the field, accurately measured, described and verified, allows the actual condition of assets to be accurately represented. For GIS, SCADA, operational and analytical systems to function correctly, the data must have a single source of truth: a reliable field inventory, supported by tools dedicated to infrastructure data collection.
Top-quality data means:
a full understanding of the actual state of the infrastructure,
correct location and topology of assets,
fewer operational errors,
better investment decisions,
greater network operational security,
the potential for automation and preparation for the Smart Grid.
Data collection involves field surveys, analyses of technical and archival documentation, and the migration of electronic data. The process results in a complete digital network map, in which each facility has technical data, location and topological data, as well as photographic documentation. This enables operators, dispatchers, planners and field teams to work from a reliable, standardised database – compliant with GIS requirements and facility mapping standards.
How does the data inventory process work?
First, we analyse the available data and documents provided by the Client.
We then carry out a field survey, during which each feature is measured, located, described and photographed using ARDOPOINT. The data is fed into the system, where it is validated, standardised and assigned to the appropriate structures. Once the data has been entered, we perform synchronisation and check for topological correctness. The end result is a complete, up-to-date database ready for use by operators and field teams.
