Asset mapping

Ensure you have a comprehensive overview of your network assets and data consistency across your entire infrastructure

What are the benefits of entrusting us with the process of asset mapping for your network assets?

We fully understand our clients’ needs, which is why we carry out the network assets mapping process on a bespoke basis, with a focus on completeness and the highest data quality. We provide full technical support at every stage, from gathering information from various sources, through its verification and integration, right through to implementation into the IT system. We know that for the system to function correctly, data must be sourced from at least several combined sources: on-site inventories of energy infrastructure, technical and handover documentation, data migration alongside electronic, paper and photographic documentation, single-line diagrams, and data updates provided by the Client. This enables us to create a digital, topologically mapped network diagram that effectively supports its operation and development. By choosing to engage in cooperation with us, you can count on:

the comprehensive collection of technical data on facilities – in accordance with the Client’s requirements and the guidelines for asset mapping of network facilities

collecting data from multiple sources, verifying, cleaning, synchronising and standardising it

a complete representation of the network topology: substations, switchgears, fields, transformers, lines, cable sections and overhead lines

the ability to use data for network analyses, modernisation planning and new investment

preparation of a comprehensive database for GIS/SCADA systems

a complete photographic record of each property undergoing asset mapping

time savings for maintenance teams and dispatchers thanks to accurate data and unambiguous identification of facilities

Sectors that most frequently commission asset mapping services

The energy sector, private operators, industry

Asset mapping is the cornerstone of high-quality network asset management. It ensures that databases remain up to date, supports planning processes and enables an effective response to operational incidents.

Comprehensive data acquisition – the cornerstone of reliable asset mapping

paszportyzacja 1

Data collection encompasses both field data and technical documentation, as well as archival materials. This process enables the creation of a comprehensive record of facilities, including their technical attributes, location, topological connections and operational history. As a result of comprehensive data collection, a complete digital network map is created, in which each facility — in accordance with the guidelines — has: technical data, location data, topological data, photographic documentation, and assignment to the system structure and facility hierarchy. Thanks to this approach, dispatchers, planners, field teams and operators can access reliable, consistent information — in line with station diagrams, connection mapping rules and the topological requirements of the GIS system.

As part of this service, we provide the following:

  • collection of field data for HV/MV, MV/LV and LV connections,

  • analyses and collection of data from technical, acceptance and design documentation,

  • migration of archived data, including electronic and paper documentation,

  • preparation of comprehensive photographic documentation,

  • entering facilities and attributes into the system in accordance with instructions (including substations, fields, switchgears, transformers, current transformers, surge arresters and line sections),

  • mapping of network topology: connections between switchgear, line connections with station diagrams, cable and overhead connections,

  • verification of data accuracy and network analyses,

  • synchronising and preparing data for import into GIS and SCADA systems.

All data is collected, validated, merged and synchronised to form a single, coherent, high-quality knowledge base of network assets.

How does the data collection process work?

First, we analyse the available data sources and the documentation provided by the client. We then carry out a field survey, during which each feature is located, described and photographed. This data is entered into the system, where it is validated, standardised and assigned to the appropriate structures. Once the data has been entered, we perform synchronisation and check for topological correctness.
The end result is a complete and up-to-date database, ready for immediate use by operators and field teams.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have any other questions?

Yes — without obtaining comprehensive and up-to-date data from a variety of sources, it is impossible to carry out reliable asset mapping.

Yes — we migrate and organise data from electronic and paper documents, scans, photographs and data from legacy systems.

Yes — it is the only source that shows the actual condition of the building. Design or archival documentation is often out of date.
