Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have any other questions?

Yes, all products comply with Polish (PN) and European (EN) standards, as confirmed by the relevant certificates. In addition, selected products meet other standards, such as the American (UL) standard.

In our solutions, you can connect the wiring using screw terminals (which allow you to connect the device using a cable with a crimped connector) or using special clamps in the unit (with a directly stripped wire end).

Depending on the type of switch disconnector, you can connect two or more cables. For example, with ARS-type switch disconnectors, you can connect two insulated cables directly using a double V-clamp, or use screw terminals for two or three cables on switchgear fitted with screw terminals.

ARS and RBK series switch disconnectors come with covered terminals as standard, and extension covers can also be fitted to them. In contrast, mSD, mSDF, RA and RAB type rotary-actuated switch disconnectors have exposed connection terminals, which can be covered using accessories.

Yes, NH1, NH2 and NH3 fuse links can be used in ARS 3 evo switch disconnectors. Similarly, the ARS 2 evo allows for the installation of NH1 and NH2 fuse links.

We manufacture switch disconnectors for four standard busbar spacing options:

  • RBK and RBP series switch disconnectors in the S version for a 60 mm spacing,
  • RBK and 2 series switch disconnectors in S version for 100 mm spacing,
  • ARS series switch disconnectors for 185 mm spacing,
  • adapters for ARS series switch disconnectors for a 210 mm spacing.

Yes, all RBK series switch disconnectors can be used in a horizontal position.

Yes, both types of switch disconnectors allow you to easily switch the flow direction between up and down.

What should you look out for when choosing isolating switches?

Switch disconnectors play a key role in every electrical installation, protecting it from the effects of short circuits and overloads. Therefore, the purchasing decision requires not only analyses of technical parameters (e.g. rated current, mechanical endurance, IP rating), but also an assessment of other factors that affect the safety of the installation and personnel. Here are a few of them:

  • features – find out whether the switch disconnectors can lock the drive in a specific position and whether they offer the option to change the up/down direction of movement. Check whether they allow for contactless replacement of fuse links and remote monitoring;
  • safety – verify standards compliance with Polish and European standards, confirmed by certificates. Check the design for optimal heat dissipation, flammability class and level of protection against direct contact;
  • installation flexibility – assess the speed and ease of installing the switch disconnectors for staff. Check which mounting systems the device is compatible with (e.g. busbars, mounting plates, DIN TH-35 rails);
  • infrastructure compatibility – enquire about related solutions, e.g. switchgear monitoring software, busbar systems or product standardisation within a single solution group.

If you are unsure whether a particular switch disconnector is the right choice for your installation, please contact us. We will help you make a decision and support you through the subsequent stages of implementation.
