Selecting the right power supply is crucial for the reliability of automation systems. It is worth considering not only the electrical parameters, but also the protective and communication functions that will ensure stable operation of the equipment in various environmental conditions and emergency scenarios. Here are a few key aspects:

  • voltage and current stability – the power supply should guarantee precise voltage regulation and the ability to limit charging current to protect batteries and controllers from overload;
  • diagnostic and testing functions – choose devices that allow for local and remote battery performance testing and parameter monitoring, which facilitates rapid problem detection;
  • fail-safe protection – mechanisms to protect against deep discharge, critical status alerts, and the option to control heating and ventilation for stable operating conditions are essential;
  • integration with telemechanics systems – the power supply should support standard communication protocols (e.g. DNP3.0) and transmit data on voltage, temperature and battery status to SCADA systems.
